Nanganallur Maniganda Sabha

Our Sabha came into existence as a registered body in the year 1992, though we have been in existence for many years now. We have been functioning with only one aim, principle with continued level of enthusiasm and involvement over the years.

The Sabha’s main aim is to follow and spread the cult of Ayyappa in the correct way and to propagate his eternal message of “Equality in all aspects”. In this process we help the poor and needy to reach this goal with minimum expenses while providing the basic comforts. We also try to help in our own way to follow and preach Bhakthi” with sincerity, which is to lead our life, the way our ancient religion (that can be called the way of life) taught.

We have in the past performed several homa’s some of which are described in detail in this document.

“Sri Narayaneeya Homam” the chanting of all the 1008 Nama’s of Vishnu with the offering of flowers, Ghee, Sweet Pongal and Samith. This was accomplished along side the chanting of the Vishnu Sahasranama Soththra for about 121 times.

We have performed the “Sri Maha Sudarashana Raksha Homam” and  “Sri Maha Dhanvanthri Homam” in the pravachana mandapam of Sri Uthira Guruvayoor Appan Temple in Nanganallur.

This Homa was performed in the prescribed procedure for a week with the help of many revered Vedic Pundits and Scholars.

In the year 2002 the Sabha decided to perform the “Sri Maha Sastha Purscharana” in a grand scale with the last leg of the homam culminating in Sabarimala.

This purascharana involves the following: -

Japa (Chanting) of the Sri Maha Sastha Moola Manthra for 11 Lakh Times.

Homa performed with the chanting of Sri Maha Sastha Moola Manthra for 1 lakh 10 thousand Times.

Argyam performed with the chanting of Sri Maha Sastha Moola Manthra for 11 thousand times.

This Purascharana also includes performing Annadanam which was performed on the day which we performed the irumudi for the Sabari Yatra 2003.

All these activities have been possible only with the active participation of our members and the continued support of our patrons and Well-wishers.

On this momentous occasion we remembered the able Guidance, Leadership and participation of one of the Founders of the Sabha namely Shri T.S.Somaskandan Swami whose absence was felt by one and all.

We released a Souvenir containing Slokas, Bhajans and some useful information about Sabarimala and the Ayyappa cult.

The Sabha Prays for your continued well being.
